The Break from the Break – Weekend Action & What’s Next
“They're going too slow”
When the camera fixed on Tom Heal during the Andrews Trophy, he turned to the lens and joked that the small breakaway that he had just attacked was “going too slow.” His effort earned him a prime‑lap prize and, thanks to live coverage from Monument Cycling TV, a solo shot that showcased our sponsors. Although the winning quartet eventually edged clear, Tom’s break‑within‑the‑break became the headline – a reminder that streaming can turn a split‑second move into valuable exposure. Despite a field heavily laden with opposing teams, Tom did very well to land a Top-10 spot, going from strength-to-strength and a return to form.

Teamwork on display
At the Danum Trophy, our trio of Oliver Dawson, Harrison Dainty and Dylan Belton Owen animated the breakaway. Dawson attacked twice in the closing laps, softening up the field so that Harrison could launch his sprint to second. This podium for Harrison showcased another example of how coordinated team-play and on-the-road confidence pays off.

A UCI classic on home roads
Britain’s only one‑day UCI road race, the Rutland–Melton CiCLE Classic, beckons on 26 April. The race mixes tarmac with farm tracks and parkland roads and features notorious sectors like Somerberg and Stapleford Park. Historically, the action explodes early across these off‑road stretches, so positioning will be crucial. After a podium result last year, we’re ready for chaos and for another shot at a big result.
New partner - Trupart Automotive
Off the bike, we’ve welcomed Trupart Automotive as a new sponsor, enabling us to expand our 2026 international & UCI calendar (now including Tour de La Manche, Ronde dl’Oise UCI 2.2, West Bohemia Tour UCI 2.2U and GP de la Somme UCI 1.2) as we continue our march toward UCI Continental status in 2027. With Trupart on board we significantly increase our exposure, firepower, and likelihood of turning the corner in obtaining the coveted UCI Continental license. We continue the hunt for meaningful partnership to solidify our platform as we give riders enhanced exposure and opportunity.

Raffle update
A huge thank you is in order for all those who have supported the team. Our equipment raffle has already raised over £350, with tickets on sale until 10 May; every entry helps replenish bikes and spares after a busy spring.
As one of British Cycling’s Elite Development Teams, we bridge the gap between domestic racing and the pro ranks: we give riders a comprehensive race programme, mentoring and sustainable equipment. The UK’s domestic scene is very competitive – with powerhouse squads like Ride Revolution, Stolen Goat, DAS Richardsons and Wheelbase raising the bar – and we’re proud to be leading the conversation towards progressing to UCI status.
You can support our mission by purchasing official JAKROO kit – all sales fund the team directly – and following us on streaming platforms. With partners like JAKROO, Handsling, Alta Via, OTE, Ekoï, Roubaix London, Myatts of Mockbeggar and now Trupart, your support fuels every attack.
Thanks for following our journey – stay tuned for more racing and behind‑the‑scenes stories.
